Encounter Weekend
|
 UNLOCKING PASSION AND PURPOSE FOR LIFE Webster defines the word "encounter" as-to come upon; to meet face to face. Throughout scripture we see instance after instance where God invited His people to encounter Him and to come into direct relationship with Him. in Jeremiah, God tells the prophet that if people will seek Him with all their heart they will find Him, and in the Book of Acts, Luke writes that God made man, and appointed their times and boundaries so that they would seek Him and perhaps find Him. You see, finding and encountering God is not some impossible quest that only a few people can accomplish. He wants us to encounter Him up close and personal. God is close to each of us. All He is waiting for is someone who will pursue Him with all their might. Our desire in this weekend is that you would come to a place where you truly "encounter" God. It should be a time of reflection, as we allow God to affect a change in our life. Just as Jacob encountered God and was never the same, allow this weekend to be a time which forever will change your life, because you have come face to face with the living God. What Should I Know About an Encounter Weekend? LifeHouse Church's Encounter Weekend is an intentional time set aside for every person to experience a face-to-face time with God, and is open to anyone who would like to participate. Every person, whether you are a new Christian, or have been a Christian most of your life, should participate in one of our Encounter Weekends. All Encounter Weekends are held at Cove Valley Youth Camp in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. The group leaves the church on Friday evening, stays through Saturday and into Sunday returning to Hagerstown in time for the 10:30 AM worship service.
