| LIFE in the Fast Lane - 3/31/2009 |
"LIFE in the fast lane... surely make you lose your mind..." So the old Eagle's song goes. I find just the opposite to be true- LIFE in the fast lane surely makes you have the mind of Christ! What do I mean by that?
Recently I was in India leading a pastor's conference and I was talking about how God will accelerate His purposes to expand His Kingdom as we get closer to the end of the age. I base this on the fact that "God doesn't want anyone to perish" so in my humble opinion, ther >> Read More |

| New Level - 3/30/2009 |
I love statements like these: "You can't put new wine into an old wineskin!" "Doing the same things expecting different results is the definition of insanity!" "Everyone is for change until they actually have to!" All of those, and many more like them, have to do with facilitating life on an entirely new level. The facts are, "new ideas, systems, methods, etc." require their own unique "formats"- you can't put them into the "box" of "how it's been done previously." Also, change really does >> Read More |

| Cultural Adaptation - 3/24/2009 |
India is a great place, but like every other place I've ever been, it has it's own unique cultural dynamics. I won't get into some of them here because, well, it may sound like I'm being critical; which I'm not. But, let's just say, that if I lived in India it would take some getting used to- and possible, I may not ever adapt.
And that's my point. There were several experiences in India that, let's just say are "everyday" deals, that obviously I had to in some respects, "do as the I >> Read More |

| 5 Hours of "Chicken" - 3/17/2009 |
I flew over 16 hours yesterday from DC to Hydersbad, India, connecting in Doha, Qatar, and didn't experience one, zero, nada problems. No turbulence. No bad seats. No security problems. No sickness. As a matter of fact, it was probably the best flight of that distance I've ever taken!
BUT... we're not in the car five minutes leaving the airport and we have 2 potentially near death experiences! And for the next 5 hours I basically quit counting how many times I mouthed the words, " >> Read More |

| Meetings or Mobilization - 3/5/2009 |
I'm writing this blog while a meeting is going on that I'm not chairing obviously, or I wouldn't be blogging right now! I find myself more and more becoming weary of meetings. It seems like the more we meet about stuff the more we need to meet about stuff!
I really do get it in repect to the importance of getting together to strategize and plan; as a matter of fact, I schedule some meetings myself. But what I'm wrestling with is "how much do we need to keep talking about the same thi >> Read More |

| True Friends Tell You the Truth - 3/3/2009 |
I've got some great friendships in my life; actually a lot of them! But I only have a few "true" friends. Most "friends" range anywhere from being an acquaintance that you see once in a while or even everyday at work, etc. to someone you know for a long time and shared some life with, if you know what I mean. They're great people and they definitely add some value to your life in one way or another. Of course, these kinds of friends can also suck some life out of you, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN >> Read More |
