Things I've Learned About Transitions Date Posted:8/13/2009 | I talk a lot about "transitions" because, for the most part, I feel like I've been in transition for most of my life! Well, it's probably not that pronounced, but it can sure seem that way. Over the next few blogs I want to chat about some of the key things I've learned about "transition." By the way, transition is the state and/or season of moving from one place to another, or from one condition to a new or different condition.
TRANSITION is an evolutionary process!
What I mean by that is that if you are going to move from one state/season of life into the next, etc. then you need to understand that its going to be a step-by-step dynamic of developing, stretching, growing, pushing/pulling, adjusting and ultimately adapting to the new "state/season!" If you don't realize that pretty early on in the transitional stage, you are going to be constantly frustrated or worse yet, tempted to throw in the towel.
You need to remember that the "transition" stage is not the destination- it's the route to get there! BUT, you must take the transitional stage seriously and take your "steps" very carefully! Mainly because as you move from the old state/season to the new, you must be cognizant of the need to intentionally adjust and adapt to what the new state/season requires! People who fail to do this, never really make it "there!" The either fall victim to a real lack of ongoing preparation and subsequently let the dream die or they simply divert their attention, and more seriously their life, down another, more convenient path! And in the worse cases of all, people just quit- on the dream, on the relationships, on life!
So, if you are about to, or are going through a "transition", it's an evolutionary process of becoming what the new state/season requires of you to not only be sustained, but to thrive! | | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | August 13, 2009 | | |
