Let Go and Let God! Date Posted:7/30/2009 | One week and counting... that's basically the timeframe until the last of the Broadwater offspring leaves the nest! And Dad is trying to deal with it! Cayla will be leaving for UCONN on August 8th where she'll attend on a full athletic scholarship for volleyball. So, obviously her mom and me are very proud of her for her accomplishment. But at the same time, it will mark a defining moment as she leaves the world of Dad always being there to protect her to entering the world of "Oh God, I hope and pray we've imparted and instilled in her all the right values and character!"
One week and counting... till, in all honesty, Dad is going to have to "grow up" himself! I mean, letting go, trusting God, releasing by faith, etc. is easy talk and sounds so spiritual when you say it. But actually living that kind of thing out, well, that's the indicator of true spiritual maturity. Is it hard? Is it painful? Do you have to say, "Okay God, she's really in your hands now?" Absolutely! Do you want to hang on a little longer when God says to let something go and trust Him? Do you try and find ways to manipulate the situation or perhaps at the very least you're tempted to do that so you can feel better about it? YES! We all do and we know it! Because trusting God when you have to let go and by faith believe that He has it all under control, even when you can't see it or figure it out, is the major leagues of being a Christ-follower!
And the key to succeeding is real simple- its having the utmost confidence that "this" is the will of God! When you know that God's divine purpose is being furthered, it empowers you to just plain trust Him! And that is what it really is to "let go and let God!" | | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | July 30, 2009 | | |
