Causes

When the Israeli army was facing a “giant” obstacle, Goliath, a young David, future king of Israel, asked the question “Is there not a cause?” In other words, he was asking isn’t there something larger worth fighting for. One of the base desires and needs of humanity is to do something or to give to something bigger than themselves. We believe that every person needs to have a cause to give to. Each person should do his or her own part in finding some way to serve. At LifeHouse Bethel we offer three significant opportunities to empower our people to reach out and give back: The Blessing Initiative, Hope for Hagerstown and our Missions endeavors.

The Blessing Initiative

The simplest acts of kindness often carry the greatest lasting benefits. Meeting a simple need of another person will often open their heart to the love of God and to others. The Blessing Initiative is our own grassroots effort to empower each person to serve their community through the simple act of blessing someone; their neighbors, friend, co-workers, and acquaintances. Hope for Hagerstown

One day a year we partner with Convoy of Hope, other churches, community and civic organizations, government agencies, businesses and over 1500 individual volunteers for an outreach to our city. In one day over 4,000 people are served by providing groceries, haircuts, photographs, entertainment, a hot meal, health screenings and much more, all at no charge to any participant.

Missions

Mission projects, both at home and oversees, is a significant element for us. Whether here in Hagerstown or the Dominican Republic, or other areas around the world, our mission’s teams go to serve and make a difference in the lives of people who desperately need to experience the message of Jesus lived out in a personal and practical way.
