“Be a Blessing Initiative”
1 Peter 3:8-12 (The Message) “Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless – that’s your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a blessing.”
The word “initiative” is defined as one’s personal, responsible decision. In other words, it’s a decision we make that moves us to take responsibility and do something about a given situation. The “Be a Blessing Initiative” is an endeavor to encourage people to take advantage of every opportunity to help others who could benefit from an act of kindness or service. It is a great opportunity for us as Christ followers to show love and encouragement by reaching out a helping hand, offering hope to those around us and inspiring them to do the same! Jesus said it this way in Matthew 25:40: “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
At LifeHouse Church Bethel it is our desire that our church family would take this initiative and bless others on an individual basis, and work together to bless the communities in and around the church building.
Check out our idea list of over 100 ways to bless someone! Whether it’s on the streets, in your neighborhood, at work, or at home…look around you, get some great ideas, and be inspired to action! The list is always expanding!
We want to hear from YOU! Visit our Testimonials page to let us know how you were blessed through this endeavor. Whether you were the one helping, or if you were being helped by someone else, write us and we’ll include it on our site.
Want to do something more? Join A Team! Every month we will post opportunities for you to join a team of others who are willing to take the initiative.
Luke 6:31 (The Message) “Here is a simple rule of thumb for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them!”
